British Pop-R&B singer-songwriter Jay Sean was born and raised in London, England into an Indian/Punjabi family. As he started rapping at the age of 12, he learnt how to structure, produce and write songs at a very young age. Amazingly, at the same time he was exploring his artistic side, Jay Sean was studying medicine at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. When Jay Sean’s songs caught the attention of British Asian music producer Rishi Rich, who was putting together a groundbreaking project fusing Punjabi music and contemporary Pop/R&B, the trainee doctor decided to follow his love and passion for music, dropped out of med school and signed with Virgin Records. As soon as the first single ‘Dance With You’ dropped, Jay Sean became the face and voice of a new generation.

Jay Sean’s debut album ‘Me Against Myself’ became a commercial success, not only in the UK, but also abroad. This album sold over 300,000 units worldwide in mainstream outlets. In India ‘Me Against Myself’ reached #1 going 5 times platinum.

Due to limitation in terms of creative control and due to different interests, Jay Sean parted ways with Virgin Records and decided to do everything in ‘his own way’. He set up his own record label ‘Jayded’ – a joint venture between himself and his management company/record label 2point9.

In 2008 Jay Sean independently released his second album ‘My Own Way’ which quickly sold over 150,000 units and peaked at #6 on the UK album chart, proving to the world that his fan base and artistry was truly a force to be reckoned with.

The video for ‘Ride It’, Jay Sean’s first single off his independent album ‘My Own Way’, clocked astonishing 14 million hits on YouTube ( 25+ million hits across all online video channels). Indeed, his sales caught the eye and ear of Cash Money Records CEO and co-founder Ronald ‘Slim’ Williams, who instantly saw Jay’s worldwide appeal and potential and signed him to a multi album, multi million dollar recording contract, making Jay Sean the first UK artist to join the Cash Money family, which is home to 4 time Grammy winner Lil Wayne.

‘ALL OR NOTHING’ is Jay Sean’s debut U.S album. His debut single ‘Down’ achieved huge success: It has been certified triple Platinum (selling 3.3 million+ units) by the RIAA in the U.S. The smash U.S debut single ‘Down’  feat. Lil Wayne has gone, amongst others:

#1 on the Billboard Chart, the top 40 airplay charts as well as on Rhythmic US Radio Chart and #2 on the US iTunes chart, making Jay Sean  not only officially THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MALE UK URABAN ARTIST in U.S chart history, but also the first male British urban artist to have a #1 single in the US. The video to his debut single ‘Down’ gained over 41 million hits in 6 months on YouTube. The second single off that album ‘Do You Remember’ achieved Platinum status (1 million+ units) and reached #10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart, making him the 1^st artist since 2003 to have two debut consecutive singles in the top 10 Billboard Chart. Jay Sean is the 5^th most searched name worldwide on Google in 2009.
